Winfield School is situated 75 km west of Wetaskiwin at the junction of Highways 13 and 20. The primary means of living is based on farming and the oil industry. Through the past decade there has been a marked decline in the viability of the family farm in the Winfield area. As a result, our student population has continued to decline over the past three years. Currently we have an enrollment of 83 students. Approximately 90% of our students ride the school bus. There is a privately operated ECS program operating in the school and the Winfield Public Library is also in the building.
Our learning program is enriched through fine arts presentations, field trips, the annual track meet, a science fair and a strong physical education program. Students are bussed to Buck Mountain Central School for grades 7 to 12.
