WRPS PAYROLL SERVICES

The Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools Payroll Services department is managed by the Director, Business Services: Mrs. Sherri Senger and generates approximately 750 pay cheques per pay period.

All employees, with the exception of substitute staff, shall be paid via direct deposit with their pay statements delivered through their WRPS email account on the last working day before the payroll payment date. Payment dates are as follows:

  1. Not later then the 27thof each month;
  2. Not later than two (2) clear banking days prior to Christmas vacation 

Substitute staff shall be paid by cheque and their pay statements will be delivered through the mail.

Important Note: The cut-off to submit information affecting payroll is the 17thof each month (new employee benefit packages, timesheets, contract confirmation forms, etc.). Information received after the 17th will be processed the following month. 

WRPS BENEFIT SERVICES

The Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools benefit provider is Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP). Please refer to either the Collective Agreement for Teachers or the Support Staff Terms of Employment to determine the portion of the benefit premiums covered by WRPS.

WRPS's ASEBP benefit plan numbers are as follows:

On behalf of their employees, WRPS contributes dollars to a Health Spending Account up to an annual maximum of $300 per eligible employee. Please refer to either the Collective Agreement for Teachers or the Support Staff Terms of Employmentto determine the definition of an ‘eligible employee'.

The Health Spending Account is administered by ASEBP in accordance with CCRA Income Tax rules and it's regulations for the employee and his/her dependants. Please refer to the Health Spending Account Plan information regarding eligible expenses.
