Healthy living is a community responsibility. School Community Health Education (SCHEP) is a partnership between WRPS and the Health Authority that promotes the Comprehensive School Health approach. Leadership is provided to this program through coordinators from each of the partner organizations who work extensively in schools and communities to promote healthy lifestyle.
Comprehensive School Health is a long term, whole school approach involving multiple stakeholders who promote and support healthy living through: Integrated services, coordination, high yield instructional strategies and family, school, and community partnerships.
Each school has a designated School Health Champion who plays a leadership roll in healthy living education and promotion.
